Why use homeopathy

Homeopathic Remedies in bottles

Homeopathic remedies are gentle, natural medicines. They have been used for over 200 years and are prepared from naturally occurring substances. Studies show that they are:

  • Non-toxic
  • Non-addictive
  • Safe for all, including babies, young children, pregnant women and the elderly.

The homeopath recognises the role that our feelings and emotions play in our health. As a result they focus on the whole person so you can be assured that you will receive a bespoke, personalised treatment plan every time.

Homeopathy works in tune with your body. Therefore taking the prescription is the only thing you need to do. If you are one of the growing number of people who are aiming for a natural healthy lifestyle then homeopathy is ideal for you.

How does it work?

Homeopaths prescribe homeopathic remedies using the ancient principle of “like cures like”. This dates back to Hippocrates (460-377 BC).  A substance that may cause symptoms when taken in large doses (in a healthy person) can therefore be used, in small amounts, to treat those same symptoms in a sick person.

An example is Apis mellifica (Honey Bee). in a healthy person this can cause heat, stinging, burning and swelling (as with a bee sting). In Homeopathic form, however, it  treats similar symptoms, e.g. urinary infections, allergic reactions, and hives.

Coffee, in a healthy person, can cause sleeplessness. In Homeopathic form it is used to treat sleep difficulties.

For details of some more homeopathic remedies specifically for women have a look at Puberty Through to Menopause, A Helping Hand for All Generations.

According the World Health Organisation homeopathy is now the second most widely used system of medicine.
